Alone With Big Foot

July 18th Day 2 Vernon, BC - Canmore, AB

Hours on the road: 9

Today we were a bit better with sticking to the plan... at first. The 10am departure turned out to be 11am. Better than yesterday!

Our first stop was Enderby. There wasn't much to see, but I made Aaron turn around and forced him to pose in a photo. Next was Revelstoke for some lunch time eating! I prepped the tuna wraps and therefore was able to drink some canned tuna juice. As I prepped and Aaron worked on organizing the van, we were attacked by mosquitoes and horse flies. After 30 minutes of trying to ignore them we finally sprayed some OFF!, but by that time it was too late... especially for Shannon. After we and the mosquitoes finished eating we took the shuttle up to the fire tower at Mt. Revelstoke. Thumbs up on the view! Thumbs down on time management. We spent about 3 hours there, which made the drive to our campsite four thumbs down.

Doing big things like One Week.

We took Nordean's advice and searched for a campsite in Canmore at Spray Lake. After an hour and a half of driving on gravel roads and back tracking, we finally found a spot. 11pm was when we made our dinner. We shook our fists at the cold, dark night and screamed, "Damn you, Nordean!" I'll tell you now, the next morning we didn't feel the same way. Photos of our morning view coming tomorrow!

Beer from Canmore's Grizzly Paw brewery. $35 PC grill.

If anyone else knows of any cool places for camping please let us know!

Playlist:
If I Were a Carpenter - Dean
...contemplate the universe - Stephen
Smack Mix - Ryan (sounding good until we were stopped at a gas station and 50 cent came on. The music seemed to take an interesting turn. Enjoyed it!)
Rolling Stone Magazine 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - Sabrina (we relaxed at night to this and I was very happy to hear one of my favourite songs: Nothing Compares 2 U.)
