Hours on the Road: 2
After our long journey to our campsite last night, we were rewarded with a perfect view in the morning. Thanks, Nordean!

With not much left to do in Canmore we drove back to Banff. Our go with the flow motto didn't work out this time. We did a quick walk of the Banff Springs Hotel and decided that a full day needed to be planned ahead of time for us to really enjoy Banff.

A short ride later, we arrived in Calgary. Just a day late (or just on time according to some Calgarians) for the Calgary Stampede, which wrapped up the day before. We tried to take in as much of the atmosphere by parking in the front entrance parking lot for lunch. As we ate our wraps we congratulated ourselves for waking up and getting to Calgary early. During a conversation with Aaron's brother we realized that for the last 12 hours our clocks had been an hour late. Curse the one hour time difference!

The reason for our short travelling day was because of Aaron's long overdue (5-6 years) visit to his friend's house in Calgary. Marissa very trustingly let us stay at her house with her dogs (Roxy and Daisy) while she was out. Louise dropped by and gave us some good suggestions on things to see on our way through Alberta. Aaron I had a great time catching up with his friends. Thanks to Marissa and her husband Derek for making dinner for us, letting us sleep in their home and not charging us for parking! An enjoyable day indeed.
